We aim to make learning fun, flexible, interactive and appropriate to your
child's needs. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum from Nursery
to Year 6 that is enhanced by themed days and super learning weeks - e.g.
Black History Week, Enterprise Week, Sports Week. It is further enriched by
a wide range of clubs and activities that includes cookery, sports, music,
art, dance and foreign languages. Our location is an asset, just 2 miles
from Manchester city centre yet within easy reach of beautiful countryside
as well. This enables many class trips to take place each year, e.g. to Styal
Mill, Stockport Air Raid Shelters, the People's History Museum, the Science
& Industry Museum, Manchester Art Gallery, Bramall Hall, the Bridgewater
Hall, Formby Squirrel Reserve... and many more besides. Your child will
have the chance go on a residential holiday in Year 6 to do outdoor and
adventurous activities like abseiling, canoeing, zip wiring, fencing... they'll
come back exhausted but saying it's the best thing they've ever done, and
the teachers say the same! Your child will also learn a musical instrument
in their time at Cavendish, and music is a big part of our school life.
We have a School Council, which helps children to learn about democratic
processes and ensures that they can contribute towards school
development.
Learning is Fun!
" He is now a very happy
boy who, in his words,
"loves learning". We believe
that this is entirely due to
the staff at your school.
So thank you."
