A warm welcome
Dear Parents and Carers,
I am delighted to welcome you and your child to Star Primary School.
At Star, our aim is to provide an exciting, challenging and high quality
education within a safe, caring learning environment. We wish to offer your
child the opportunity to develop and grow to their utmost potential,
developing as confident, happy, resilient learners.
The staff here are committed to our inspiring and creative curriculum, which
offers languages, sport and the creative arts. Your children will have the
opportunity to encounter Shakespeare and Dickens, explore journalism and
learn about different world cultures. The teaching of a foreign language is a
key focus of the school and children will learn French from Nursery to Year 6.
But fundamentally, we aim to develop children's competence and abilities in
the basic skills of Reading, Writing and Numeracy because these are the
building blocks of all other learning.
We firmly believe in an `I can do' philosophy for all children, and we will
nurture their spirituality and moral development.
